Nicole Wu was born in Taiwan, educated in the United States, and moved to New Zealand in 2000. 

Her artworks draw inspiration from her multicultural background, extensive travels, and thoughtful encounters with diverse people.  She specialises in intricate porcelain making, crystalline glazing, blue and white glazing, acrylic painting, and 3D resin fish pieces—each requiring detail, patience, and originality.   

Nicole learned pottery and ceramic arts from 4 professional potters in Christchurch and San Francisco since 2018 and travelled to Jingdezhen, China to study traditional Blue-and-White painting and glazing techniques. Supported by 25 years of experience as a corporate trainer, Nicole applies proven adult-learning and facilitation principles to small-group pottery training at her studio in Ilam, Christchurch, delivering structured, engaging, and personalised ceramics education.
